Bray aims to be a leading European manufacturer and retailer of astronomical telescopes, binoculars and accessories for telescopes including equatorial mounts, tripods, eyepieces, filers, prisms, finderscopes, guidescopes, astro imaging and photography equipment.

 From our showroom facility in Leighton Buzzard, Bray can supply a wide range of astronomical telescopes and telescope accessories for the amateur astronomer. Using our commercial experience and personal interest in telescopes and astronomy, we believe we can offer you the highest standard of service, with a view of supplying you with the highest quality astronomical telescopes to suit your needs, within your budget.
From at least two decades of practical observing experience, and a passion for high-performance optics, we have chosen to streamline our choice of performance astronomical telescopes to a carefully considered elite group that represent the finest imagers on the planet. Presently, we have limited our output to amateur telescopes of manageable sizes, from small to relatively large Apochromatic refractor tube assemblies, moderate to large sized Maksutov Cassegrains and Maksutov Newtonians, through to larger Newtonians. Although we also offer a service to equip observatories with professional instrumentation, we find that most of the advances in telescope technology are made available to the amateur market, and this is where we concentrate most of our effort.

Bray Imaging Technologies are also manufacturers of telescopes. We are extremely proud to be manufacturing the world-famous Teleport alt-azimuth Newtonian range of astronomical telescopes. Our intention is to maintain its position as the most desirable amateur telescope in the world while improving the availablilty of this superb instrument.
Our first ‘outing’ with the Teleport was at the Equinox Sky Camp in Thetford
Forest this year, Tom Noe (the inventor) being present at this event.
In addition to the Teleport, we manufacture unique Delrin laser collimators and a variety of dovetail plates. We also have the prototype of the first Vac-formed cases for the Meade LX90, the first case for the Meade SCT range. We expect to offer an extensive range of cases, covering most of the popular compact telescope brands.
We intend to build this site, on a continuous basis, into a comprehensive reference for high performance instruments. It is our purpose to provide the finest advice and guidance available for all astronomers, whether beginners or advanced.
With increased coverage of astronomical events by the media, and astronomy now a curriculum subject in compulsory education, the general desire to ‘see for themselves’ what we strange astronomers have found so interesting all these years has created a market for the inexpensive, poor quality telescopes available today in every High Street. We deem it necessary, for the benefit of our budding young or new astronomers and for the sanity and general well being of our beloved subject, to reject many of the mass-produced instruments designed for the budget sector of the market, with the view that they are simply not good enough for rewarding, practical astronomy. There are a few budget instruments, however, that meet the minimum requirements of cost versus optical and mechanical competence, and these we offer. If we do not stock or recommend products that appear generally available, you can be sure there is a very good reason why.
We will offer a comprehensive, descriptive account of the products we offer, including relevant, useful and fundamental product information. From its basic start, this will blossom into the site that we would like to offer, and that we believe you would like to see. We consider sharing our knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers to be an important part of the Bray business philosophy, as we prefer to build healthy working relationships with our clients. In this way we can avoid the uninspiring and sometimes disillusioning aspects of the modern retail purchasing experience.
Parallel to this, we intend to provide our own on-line discussion forum for Teleport users, telescope and other equipment topics and astronomy in general.

Even if your request concerns instruments we can not supply, we will always strive to be as objective and truthful as possible, and this pledge can be relied on. We freely admit we are audibly opinionated, but this is born out of a passion for high-quality observing experience, and the wish to facilitate the same for all amateur astronomers.
